Film: Dogtooth
I recently saw a film called dogtooth. It's by yorgos lanthimos, a greek man who's name I can barely pronounce let alone remember (which makes pulling off a civilised conversation about 'world cinema' a damn sight harder). The film revolves around a creepy man, his disillusioned wife, their 25 year old 'children', and at times a perverted security guard. Banned from leaving their home before their dogtooth has fallen out and miraculously regrown, the 'children' live a controlled and debauched life under the eye of creepy dad; watching videos of themselves for entertainment catching airplanes out the sky and licking each others keyboards.
Amazing as it was, the film has now left me with a fear of cats, cars, white vests, swimming pools, teeth and video cameras.
